Dress Like Me Feature

Good morning ladies and gents! One of the more flattering things happened this week in the world of blogging. I was featured on the website DressLikeMe! They did an amazing write-up, highlighting a couple of my instagram posts and breaking down the styling. I blushed through reading it and was really flattered by how they described my style: “… very much old world meets new, and her looks often have a European vibe mixed with modern American boldness.” This was the ultimate compliment and I’d love for you to take a look. Check out the article by clicking the link HERE.

Bom dia senhoras e senhores! Fui apresentado no site DressLikeMe! Confira o artigo clicando no link AQUI.

Top - Forever 21

Hi beauties! I am just checking in to say that I probably won’t be able to blog much until I have my own place. The hostel I’m staying in is FULL and I’d rather keep my computer and camera in my suitcase for now. I’m a Starbucks right now and the internet is so slow. Hopefully I can upload a photo to this post! Anyways, I got a sore throat yesterday and have stocked up on Brazilian medicine. I have a couple leads on places but nothing concrete yet. I’ve had a lot of fun getting to know the people at the hostel. They’re from all over Brazil and the rest of the world and I’ve gotten you to speak a lot of Portuguese and in-turn helped some people with their English when they ask. My to-do list for the next couple days is:

1. Continue the apartment search

2. Look into jobs

3. Find the old dance studio I used to go to

4. Sleep (easier said that done in a hostel)

5. Get a Brazilian phone - not sure if I want to get a pay-as-you-go phone or one with some internet capabilities

6. Beach!

Oi belezas! Eu me diverti muito conhecendo as pessoas no albergue.

6. Praia!

Las Vegas

The last time I was in Vegas I was 16 years old and I was there for a family reunion. It was fun - we ate well, went to a Cirque du Soleil show ... and I pined for the nightlife I could not participate in the whole time! I had been wanting to return now that I'm well-passed 21 and I finally got the opportunity a couple weeks ago! Here are some photos from the adventure. I hope you enjoy!

Mardi Gras

I'm sitting at my desk sniffling with a cold that I contracted from having too much fun. I got an invite to go to Mardi Gras from some friends a month or so back and it seemed like a trip I didn't want to miss. I had never been to Louisiana and I haven't taken a lot of trips to new places in the past couple years ... moving to LA was my big trip, but I didn't have much in the way of a break from work. I was overdue for an adventure! I had so much fun! The four days were a jumble of drinks, parades, dancing, live music, dodging & catching beads, good people ... and more drinks. I'm definitely curious about the city when it's not a giant party too, so it's on my list to visit again.

Flea Market Finds

I'm a woman of my word! Here are photos of my 2 flea market finds. I know, not a ton of stuff, but quality over quantity ;). I have been wanting a good sized purple geode but they are often expensive or just not exactly what I'm looking for. I feel like it has to speak to me haha. It has to have good juju, and this one does. I love how it wraps around to the back and it's cut so it can lay in a lot of different ways. The earrings were only $4 and they hang really nicely and are very light. I definitely want to go back to the flea market. There are always such unique things!

Starting a New Blog

This is a year of chosen transitions and growth and even though I still love the concept of ifmyfingerswerefeathers.com, I want to start fresh on a new platform. Moving to Los Angeles almost two months ago has proven to be the right choice; I feel like I can really create what I've wanted to for years. It's like Rio but I can bring my camera around! I hope this is the start to something really special. Thanks for taking the journey with me, it's no fun on my own.
