Fall 2021 Mood Board

Hello my loves. I have been very MIA on here, admittedly. I have been busy and have some fun things in the works. I knew that creating videos would add a new component to my creative cycles, and as predicted, it has taken some of the place of my photo adventures. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I am hoping to not be working and instead to be bringing my camera along to capture the friends, food and festivities. I am scheduled to work but submitted a request for the day off. Fingers crossed that it gets granted! I will be going home to California for a bit next month as well and am looking forward to creating both photo and video content there. It will be so nice to have a whole week off! I get to see some of my favorite people and wander around in nature. A much needed reprieve from my stimulating city life. I think back to my Part 2 Puerto Vallarta vlog where I talk about how that vacation was just icing on the cake rather than a much-needed getaway. It seems cute now, from the future that has been so crazy busy. Puerto Vallarta Mariamma was right at the tipping point when work really started to ramp up. This time of year is always interesting. It feels like we’re wrapping the year up, pondering the events and changes we’ve experienced since the last round of holidays. I hope it’s been a good year for you and I hope you can take some time to reflect and be grateful for all the blessings, whether they be big or small. Much love to you and yours.

First Things First

The first thing I did the morning I was done with quarantine was to go for a walk in my neighborhood and grab some items from the grocery store that would revamp my room. A scented candle (now that my smell is back) and some flowers did the trick. Getting to go grocery shopping for myself and walking out my front door … like I said, a newfound appreciation for small freedoms.

Mini Juice Cleanse

On Monday night I headed up to Manhattan Beach, one of my favorite places, to have dinner with my uncle. He was here for a 12 hour layover on his way to Australia for two months (lucky!). I got there just in time to watch the sunset and then we got a delicious dinner at a restaurant a block up from the beach. After a bottle of wine, three dishes, and a slice of cheesecake I hugged him goodbye and sent him barreling down the street in a taxi, back to the airport. On my way back to my car I stopped by Pressed Juicery and was persuaded to take advantage of a pretty sweet promotion for a one day cleanse. With the cold weather and the holidays it's easy to go into hibernation mode - so it's reinvigorating to give your body a big boost of nutrients. A cleanse was just what I needed! I drank all six of the juices yesterday and ended the day with my second aerial yoga class. The studio is just a five minute walk away. It's SO nice to hang upside-down from stretchy fabric attached to the ceiling, who knew?! The class always ends with you laying sprawled in the hammock, and the last song to play was "What a Wonderful World." It really is too.

take care of yourself
